I just received a report out from ATKearney on (Open) Innovation Leaders. You can get the full report here.
They researched via an online survey more than 250 companies and determined there is as much science as there is art in shaping your Innovation Management agenda. The theme is externalization and collaboration. Here at Fluid Innovation we couldn’t agree with them more.
You must be confident in allowing outsiders into your processes and more importantly create a willingness to collaborate. The bottom line is even as big as your company is it is not big enough to compete alone or in a vaccum.
What was missing from this reports was what do these leaders do with the innovations that don’t ultimately make it to the commercialization stage? Where is their exhaust valve? You can’t continuously take in and not let out.
That is where Fluid comes in. We are partnering with these worldwide leaders to make sure the next tier of open innovation leaders have a pipeline of new innovations coming out of this first tier. It’s what makes the innovation machine run smooth.
