I know this is working

Of course I can’t get into too many details but I just wanted to share a couple of data points within our business that continue to reinforce that open innovation is on the right trajectory and I want to offer the uninitiated to get on board now.

I blogged about the “Fortune 1,000,000″ as being my long term goal to avail all of Fluid Innovation’s services to anyone who had an invention or innovation they too wanted to get to market, but simply didn’t have the means.  I heard from a guy who has been noodling an idea for over a decade and a couple of years ago took the plunge and quit his day job to pursue this idea passion.  Turns out his hunches were right and his solution is spot on for a particular market.  His problem is getting to market.  He is not an implementer (our lingo for the guy who packages, markets, sells the innovation).  It’s not in his DNA and he readily admits it.

He is simply passionate about what he’s figured out and now want the world to know.  Certainly, he would like to be compensated but his economic dreams pale in comparison to his desire to see this innovation broadly used in the market.  I’m gunning for this guy now.  It just so happens that I have some technology depth and experience in this particular innovation and I know it is good…furthermore, a very big company bought a firm recently that does a similar thing just not as good as my guy - for a HUGE amount of money.  That firm simply had the right self promotion.

I know life is not fair, but we aim to make Open Innovation a vehicle to let the right person win - the consumer.  They desire the very best from the firms the buy or work with.  Its my job to ensure that the best ideas get the best platform so the best implementer get them to market so we all win.

Let’s hear it for the little guy and the little guy in the big companies dying to get out…
